About Me
I am a 23-year-old senior at Radford University. I am engaged to Bryan Hawkes and we have just had an addition to our family: Ms. Ava Lynn Hawkes was born on 1/19/2009 at 10:51 a.m.
I am majoring in Media Studies with a concentration in Journalism and I will also have obtained a minor in Foreign Languages-Spanish. I love to read and write. But my real passion is in taking care of things whether it be people, animals or just my house.
I take constant pride in what I do even if it is a blue collar $8/hr job.–I work as a shift manager at Papa John’s in Christiansburg, Va but I work my little tushy off so that I can sit in class and learn things that others often take for granted.
While I have no roomies(other than Bryan), I have quite the house full. There is Charlie, my dog. He is a Jack Russell/Lab/Beagle mix and I have had him since birth. There is also Marley, the fat cat Bryan found at only 2 weeks of age and then nursed to health and has had for the past 3 years.
We acquired Max while I was working at 7-11. The poor cat was behind the bar begging drunks for food. I took him home and he pee’d in the litter box before I could even get kitty litter in it- he was obviously owned.
I also have a 4-foot-long corn snake, Jorge who is pretty harmless but still scary to most people. Then there are the fish–a crapton of African Cichlids.
This blog is entitled From Frogtown to Radtown because the road I lived on throughout the majority of my life was Frogtown road and now here I am in what my friends have called Radtown.
So there you have it that is me, I hope you like what you read. Either way it’s a great stress reliever for me.
